Back to start Conversion of power and voltage at 50 Ω

The level indication at instruments with an output or input resistor of 50 Ω takes place usually in decibels relative to 1 mW (dBm). The indication in volts is also sometimes important for amateur radio operators. Both values can be converted into each other with the following scripts.

The first script calculates from the effective voltage at 50 Ω the power relate to 1 mW. The result is the power in dBm.

The second script calculates from the power in decibels relative to 1 mW (unit dBm) the effective voltage at 50 Ω.
